Ananth Dodabalapur, professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin's Cockrell School of Engineering has been appointed as the founding editor of Flexible and Printed Electronics (FPE).
Speaking about his new role at the journal, Prof. Dodabalapur said, “I am very honored and excited to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of Flexible and Printed Electronics (FPE). FPE is the first journal dedicated to the reporting of research in all aspects of printed, plastic, flexible, stretchable, and conformable electronics and is perfectly placed to serve the needs of academic and industrial researchers alike”. Prof. Dodabalapur is the Cullen Trust for Higher Education Endowed Professor in Engineering #3 and June and Gene Gillis Endowed Faculty Fellow in Manufacturing Systems Engineering in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.
Flexible and Printed Electronics is a new addition to IOP Publishing’s materials and applied physics portfolios of journal. It is a new multidisciplinary journal devoted to publishing cutting edge research.
"This is a very dynamic, rapidly evolving, and fast-moving field which is changing the way we think about electronics and has already had significant societal impact. Such trends will only grow stronger in future and I am confident that FPE will soon establish itself as the journal of choice for researchers working in this rapidly developing area. A very distinguished team of regional editors and founding editorial board members is already in place to guide the scientific and technical content of FPE”, added Prof. Dodabalapur.
Prof. Dodabalapur has published over 150 articles in refereed journals and has more than 27 U.S. patents issued. He is a co-recipient of the 2002 Award for Team Innovation of the American Chemical Society, and a co-recipient of an R&D 100 award for 2001.
